Get ready, intake your breath, sit down, whatever you need to do, because here comes a new post from the Adamows! Yes, I know it's crazy to believe, but it's true. I am actually sitting at my own computer, in my own house, on my own internet connection to bring you the latest (and outdatedest) news of our little man. Yep, you read that right, too. He's no baby anymore. He comes complete with walking, climbing, and a few words. Not as prolific as his cousins, but he's working on it.So, I've come to the conclusion that whether or not I have technology in my home or not, I have no idea what's going on. I tried to write this blog and somehow the whole first paragraph turned blue and is underlined. This is not because I'm overly agitated, though I'm getting there with this blog thing, it's just because I don't know how to fix it, so sorry. I also can't get my videos to download still and I can't move the pictures around like I want them to be, so this post will be as scattered as the last few. Thanks for having pity on me and reading this anyway.
We are starting with the most recent pictures. They were taken at a wedding we went to. Everywhere Jed goes he seems to attract attention from people who think he's adorable. What can I say? They're right! He especially gets the attention of the international students at our church. They are always coming over and talking to him and trying to hold him -- much to his dismay. Here, though, you have proof that he really likes our friend Rwik because he actually went to him for about 20 minutes that night. I looked up several times to see students who I had never met before taking their picture with my son. It was fun. They will be sending blogs home saying "here's some cute kid at a wedding I went to." (In their own languages of course.)
More typingApparently, if I just hit return, I can avoid the underline thing. Crazy. The good news is you all get to take this trip through technological awakening with me :) Grandma Adamow came to visit and they had a wonderful time together. I picked this picture because they looked so fun and funny together. They took plenty of cute smiling ones, but staring each other down is better, don't you think?

This is actually a picture of Chris and I. You don't get on our blog to see us, I know, but we went to a wedding and got all dressed up and Chris looks very dapper, so now you can see it, too.

Jed loves to eat! and Eat! and EAT! Here are just a few of the his favorites. Sandals. Yum! Quite the treat after a long day at a wedding.

Ice cream! Oh boy! Jed really loves ice cream now. Almost as much as Dada loves feeding it to him. Mama has to get in and set limits so our boy doesn't end up with sugar overload.

Wontons. I made these crab wontons and Jed just couldn't get enough of them.

Rice! I just stick some rice on his tray and let him go at it. He already knows how to eat it with his hands, so he's really getting ready for living in India or Nepal some day. It's a good thing he likes his rice!

Syrup. He hasn't gotten to have much of it yet. He usually gets plain pancakes, but, he's obviously his Dada's boy and will probably be drowning his pancakes in it soon enough.

Another thing Jed loves is to play instruments. Guitar (or "Gook" as he calls it) is one of his favorites. He especially likes the Ukelele because it's his size. He sits holding it like a guitar -- the right way and everything. Strumming with his right hand and holding the neck with his left. Then he starts singing along. I had a cute video of him singing with Dada, but alas, blogspot! If you come to visit us, I'll show it to you and Jed will probably serenade you. He also likes to play drums and has learned that the drum makes a louder noise if it's up off the floor. He will pick up the drum with one hand and the stick with the other and go to town. Besides all of this, he likes to listen to music and dance. His dancing consists of squatting slowly or quickly or raising his hands above his head and walking around. Then, he likes to clap along. The other day when he was clapping he was on beat about 85% of the time, so maybe he'll be a drummer? Chris has wanted to start a family band for a while now. His plan is to just have enough kids to make up the rest of the band and then we'll be all set. Jed doesn't seem to be complaining does he?

Jed went on his first bike ride with Dada on his birthday. You can't see it, but those are flying pigs on his helmet. He likes to carry his helmet around the house and try to put it on. They have only been on a couple of rides because right after his birthday it got stinking hot down here and hasn't let up. Jed will get a lot more rides once October rolls around.

Jed has discovered that he can put things around his neck. Here, it's a hanger and further down in the pictures you will see him with a pop-lock bead necklace. It can be very cute or very scary -- like the time I caught him wrapping a string around his neck and getting it stuck. He especially likes putting my hair ribbons or kitchen towels around his shoulders. His favorite, though, is taking his sling that I carry him around in and wrapping up in it and walking around the house. I have learned that this is his security object. No blankies or snuggly animals for Jed. He just wants his sling. So, if we have another baby, I'll have to make a new sling :)

I put Jed to sleep the other night in his car seat for a while because there were a lot of people in the other end of the house. It's hard to see from this angle, but when I came back in to get him, he was hanging half out of the seat sound asleep.

Here's Jed with his birthday cake. This was about the third bite. He seemed to like the taste, but once he realized that the icing was stuck to his fingers, he started to fuss and wipe his eyes -- yep, with the frosting! So, we had a very unhappy, very sticky birthday boy. He was a little leery of cake after that.

Jed loves to talk on the phone. He will find Chris' phone laying around or my old phone, or a remote control, or something else that vaguely resembles the size or shape of a phone and put it to his ear. He has been doing this since he was about 6 months old. Do we spend too much time on the phone?

Here's his necklace

Let's end with this picture. Here are he and Dada doing what they do best. They love to rough house together and I love to hear Jed giggle. He's wearing a shirt that his cousin, Rocco, gave him that says "Short, Bald and Handsome" and I think it's fairly true. He's getting less and less bald, though. Chris keeps threatening to cut off his curls and I keep threatening to cry if he does, so they're staying for now. It's only in the very back and I haven't had anyone mistake him for a girl, so we don't have to worry yet. Besides, as my friend, Amber, the hair stylist likes to say "We were born with mullets, why not go for it?" So, thanks to Amber for the inspiration and thanks to all of you for loving us enough to sort through my random blogs. Hope to see you soon and blog before Jed is 2.
AAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! He is so big!!!! And so handsome! I can't wait to see him again.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny, because you bring up another opposite of him and Joshua. Joshua HATES having things around his neck. Which is good for avoiding strangulation I suppose.
One last thing....is Chris wearing a necklace in that picture at the wedding?
Wow he has changed SO much since we last saw him! What a stud ;) I love all the info 7 share with you the frustration of Blogger. I can't get my videos to work either. I usually load pics first & add commentary second & that helps some. Can't wait to see you guys in October!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how big he has gotten! He's no longer a baby! Soooo sooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much his face has grown up in just a month!!! He's such a little man now.
