What a Big Boy!

It's crazy to think that it's already been 2 weeks since Jed came into our lives, and yet, Chris and I both have said at different times that it feels like we've always had him. 'Papa Jim' came to visit over Memorial Day weekend and we had a great time. We went to a wine festival together and just relaxed a lot -- holding Jed, looking at him, singing to him, talking to him . . . it seems like there's never enough time in the day for all of this.
Now, Chris and I are on our own for about a week before my sister, Caroline, and her daughter, Naomi, come to visit. We are learning what it's like to be our own little family unit. Here are some discoveries:

Jed snores! Yep, you heard it here, first. I didn't know that a baby could snore. They seem like such small packages that they wouldn't possibly be able to snore. Granted, it's a very quiet, gentle, baby-like snore, but a snore nonetheless! He has also taken to sleeping with his mouth gaping open. These two discoveries have led me to believe he's taking even more after his father. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree . . .

I also would like to say that my baby smiles. I know that all the experts say it's gas, but I am choosing to not believe them. I just can't imagine that such an adorable face would come from anything other than the joy of being in the world and hanging out with his adoring parents -- can you?

Finally, I think babies cuteness factor is increased by any hat you place on their heads. Cases in point:

  2. I love the hats! He is getting cuter by the day. And he looks so happy! But who wouldn't with such great and wonderful parents, grandparents and of course aunts and uncles! (Who are waiting impatiently to see him.)
