Our Biggest Blessing

Here he is, our little man. Jedidiah Carl Adamow. He was 8 lbs. 12 oz. and 21 inches long. Quite a work out for his mommy! I often heard people say that having a baby was the hardest thing they ever did and I believed them, but now I know for sure. Chris asked me if I thought it would be easier to climb Everest. I answered with a resounding ‘YES’. Still, after seeing our son, I would have turned around and done it all again just to get him. The doctors (I went through 3 of them during my labor and delivery) and the nurses (2 of them) were all very encouraging about how well I did with the labor even though I felt like I hadn’t done anything extraordinary. Chris was a hero through it all. His encouragement – especially during pushing “Give me all you got, Em!!” was imperative. If it weren’t for him, there’s no way we could have had the natural birth that I was so hoping for. Right now, he seems to have my eyes and cheeks and Chris’ nose, ears, and mouth. We’ll see as he gets older how he turns out. His hair is light brown with a hint of red and his eyes are dark blue. We were in the hospital for just a day and a half. It was a wonderful time of bonding. Here are some pictures of the first days and a video of Chris’ blessing for our baby.
